Parole Review Representation
Is your case up for review by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles? If so, you might be wondering how to better your chances for approval since parole approval rates are in the low 20% range. Hiring a parole representation lawyer cannot guarantee you success. However, what you can expect is thorough assessment of your case from a knowledgeable attorney and our opinion of your chances for parole. If for any reason we feel we cannot assist you in your parole efforts we will suggest that you do not employ our services. The Law Offices of Haby & Hernandez have a parole representation staff with over 40 years combined experience either with the TDCJ – Parole Division or The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. No other law firm in the state employs staff with this extensive experience.
First Step - Inmate Interview
Should you decide to use our Parole Representation Services for your
pending release review, it is important that you contact our office as soon
as possible. The attorney who will be handling your case will set up a
face-to-face interview with you at your unit of assignment. The fee for this
service will range anywhere from $500 - $1000 depending on your location.
The attorney will look into your history as an inmate, ask questions about
your view of the crime committed, as well as any accomplishments made while
incarcerated. Any relevant documents from the court of convictions, your
unit of assignment, as well as other sources, will be obtained for review by
your parole representation attorney. After the initial interview, your
attorney will determine whether or not we can be of any service to you. If
you are accepted as a client you will be given a final representation fee
based on the nature of your present offenses, previous criminal history, as
well as other relevant factors.
Second Step – Building Your Case
After you are accepted as a client you will receive a Parole Consultant that will be available to you or your family members to answer any and all questions you may have regarding the status of your case. Your parole consultant will compile a “Parole Packet” that will be used by your attorney when your case is presented to the parole decision makers. Depending upon the specifics of your case, we may recommend evaluation by specialists or a polygraph test in order to substantiate certain aspects of your case. We will speak with family members and friends and ask that they compile written letters explaining the type of support that they will give if you are paroled.
Final Step – Written and/or Oral Presentation
When we have completed all necessary research and testing a well written parole presentation is compiled. This written presentation will contain the client’s view of the crime, acceptance of responsibility, efforts of rehabilitation, in addition to a well defined parole plan. This written document may be the only opportunity for your attorney to represent you before the board panel. The members of the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles are only required to meet with the crime victims and their representatives, not the inmate or their legal representatives. This requires the production of a very thorough and well written presentation. In the event your review panel allows attorney presentations, your attorney will be able to present your case before the first voting member of the panel.
The Law Offices of Haby & Hernandez is committed and dedicated to providing our clients with the best parole representations services possible. We realize our clients and their family members have been through extremely traumatic times, therefore we strive to provide balance and stability in a legal system that is often cold and uncaring.
